Digital Dragon Testing new kids products

As Digital Dragon continues its camps at its Santa Monica studio and throughout Los Angeles, our curriculum director has been hard at work planning new lessons for the upcoming school year. It’s a tough job, but someone has to do it!

Wedo LEGO Education Alligator

These include the LEGO® Education WeDo 1.0, a robotics kit developed with younger students in mind, with extensive capabilities for making all sorts of wonderful robots that demonstrate the fundamentals of engineering and robotics, with sensors and motors similar to those used in older classes. As we approach the fall term, Digital Dragon will hold training and workshops sessions with robotics teachers to ensure that they are ready to teach the new lessons and implement their ideas in order to take full advantage of everything the kit has to offer. Look at our drumming monkey in action.

Bloxels

Philip is checking out the Bloxels Gameboard where you can build games and tell stories. You build your design on the board, then you learn about programming and play on the app. First up, coding a flower! This product will also help teach programming concepts to our younger students. Philip gives this a big thumbs up!

Digital Dragon Summer Camp  Digital DRagon Tech Camp

In other tech news…last week saw the end of our robotics and game design summer camp at our location in Pasadena. Our instructor Cecilia had a fantastic time guiding students through a variety of advanced robotics projects using the LEGO® MINDSTORMS® NXT 2.0.

Summer Camp in Pasadena  Rubik's Cube Solving Robot

With the three week format, the students were able to create many amazing robots, from a snake that ‘bites’ a waving hand in front of it, to a rubik’s cube solver, which scans a rubik’s cube, rotates it, and turns it until it is solved.

Be sure and check out this video of the Rubik’s Cube solving robot in action!  We still have two more weeks of Robotics camp in our Santa Monica Studio, check out the schedule here.
