Philosophy

Digital Dragon offers exceptional STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math) exposure. Kids learn a new language, become makers, and have fun at the same time. Our students evolve from consuming technology to creating it. Digital literacy is becoming more critical by the day as technology becomes more enmeshed in our lives. Our classes help kids find their tech passion while building substantial skills.

Elementary School Courses and Electives

Kinder/Junior Tech (K-1)

Exposure to developmentally appropriate coding, robotics, digital art, and more. Setting the foundation for digital creation.

Intro to Coding (2-5)

Making interactive programs that incorporate a variety of foundational coding concepts.

Minecraft: Redstone Engineering (2-5)

Students turn their Minecraft structures into Redstone wired fortresses utilizing electrical engineering principles.

Robotics Engineering (1-2 or 3-5)

Students will explore the evolving world of robotics, learning how to build, program their very own robots.

2D Game Design (1-3)

Creating their own characters and environments, designing their own levels and game rules.

3D Game Making (3-5)

Exploring miniature worlds in a 3D space, using a simple visual code to program their projects.

Young Entrepreneurs (3-5)

Students learn to leverage digital tools to help them plan, build, and brand a business.

Stop Motion Production (2-5)

Students will collaborate to create stop motion animation projects, taking them from pitches to filming and editing.

Middle/High School Courses and Electives

Programming as a Language (M/H)

In this computer science survey course, students will learn and explore several different programming languages such as Java, C++, and Python.

Digital Skills for Entrepreneurs (H)

Students will learn to leverage digital tools to build, brand, and start their own business. The class will explore topics like web design, e-commerce, and legal structure.

Programming Academy (M/H)

Students will experience three different programming environments, and get an overview of fundamental design and programming concepts.

Game Academy (M/H)

Students will take a journey in game design, beginning with paper prototyping, moving on to 2D video games, and finishing with basic 3D Game Design.

Creative Coding (M/H)

Learn computer science fundamentals the visual way with Processing, a Java based Programming language built for graphic output.

3D Game Design w/Unity (M/H)

Students will learn to build games from scratch with Unity 3D. Basic game development, coding, and level design will be covered.

Minecraft Modding w/Java (M/H)

Minecraft Modding is a fun way to learn to code and create your very own mod for Minecraft. Create your own blocks, tools, weapons, and mobs.

Virtual Rocket Science (M)

Students will use a virtual aerospace program and flight simulator to build and fly spacecraft in a realistic physics simulation.

Digital Film Production (M/H)

Student groups work together to script, plan, shoot, and edit video projects, trying out the various roles associated with digital movie-making.
