How to March into 2021 and Create a Better World.
Is this real? Has 2020 officially left the building? For all too many, in our neighborhoods and around the world, the last year has been devastating. Yet here we are, together, facing a new year filled with hope – even though we’re still really in the thick of it. It should be evident that we will prevail and we will march on. It is also evident that we need creators, makers, tinkers, parents, educators, community, and dreamers in order to do so in a meaningful way. It is imperative that everyone up-skill themselves in order to carry us beyond our current systems and ways of life.
Don’t just consume tech. Create it!
Whether it be a program, piece or art, game or robot, bring a smile and/or engagement to your house, classroom (often your house now-a-days), or a complete stranger who stumbles upon it online.
Don’t just watch the news. Make it!
Flex your civil superpowers and rally behind something you believe in. Whether it be a poster, a post, or a video, create content around your cause. There are plenty to back!
Don’t just wait for things to get better. Make them better!
Accelerate your brain! We’re living in a world where knowledge is just a click away. Learn something new and apply it in your life. Share the talent and skills to shape a better world.
Even during the toughest times, innovation has happened across sectors has spurred new ways to live and learn. Whether it’s found in different ways to connect with loved ones, or a new mentality and push to deliver educational content blended between in and out of school learning, we are ready for what’s next. What part can we individually play? What role can society play? After taking all the hits from last year, let’s resolve to take action in creating. As always, it’s up to us to make of it what we can.
DLDR; In the face of the new year, we’re invited again to design and develop towards our preferred futures. Whether we take simple action to better the lives of our loved ones or stand tall with our neighbors and community for the betterment of all, we simply must take action. Technologies are tools to help us accomplish what we set out to create and can enhance our lives. 2020 pushed us towards the edge, how might we fly in 2021?
